RET•RO•GRADE Fashion Show

Our fashion show was inspired by futuristic and destruction elements. The clothes started out futuristic and then started to deteriorate. We took geometric objects and hung them from the ceiling to create a "U" shaped centerpiece. The inspiration was drawn from geometric hanging lights and rubble left behind from a fallen building. The rubble you see in the middle adds the destruction feel.

In our fashion show we had a total of 50 outfits. The looks posted below were all designed and styled by my friend Gaby Morin and I. We worked very hard on our outfits, I hope you like them. If you would like to see more pictures of the other girl's creations leave a comment below! Also tell me what you think of our fashion show!

We'll be burning up like neon lights

YO YO! I’m back again for another outfit update. How would you guys feel if I did some other posts on my blog, something besides an outfit? I want to change it up a bit. Tell me your thoughts in the comments below. I was thinking of writing something on “How to shop”, or maybe a beauty post? Would you enjoy that? Well today was another beautiful day here in Vancouver and I spent it doing homework, chatting with family, and catching up with my blog. I have a big test on Tuesday (last day of school) and I’m very busy this weekend, so today was my only time to study. What does everyone have planned for the weekend?

Neon has been trending everywhere lately, and I wanted to put my spin on the trend. I wanted this outfit to be light and bright. I paired this great white blazer with a lace peplum top and dark wash denim. The neon necklace and shoes add that pop to the outfit, and tie everything in. The clutch is handmade with vinyl, and suits the look.

Blazer: Papaya
Necklace: Forever New
Peplum: Macy's

mint obsessed!

SORRY EVERYBODY! I’ve been away for such a long time, and I apologize. I have been busy with school. Our last class is next Tuesday and we have our grad that day as well. I cannot believe we are so close to being done. Sometimes it feels like just yesterday it was my first day of class, meeting everybody but now they are good friends of mine. There is lots of news to tell you besides graduation. Our class had our fashion show July, 16 and it was very successful. I will post photos soon! I also turned 20, which feels crazy. Life is speeding by, and I’m loving the ride. I am working on my portfolio, so the link will be up by next week if you’d like to check that out. If you want to follow my day-to-day life my instagram is “julieaaane”, or follow me on twitter: @julieanne11343. I try to update my social media once a day.

This is an outfit inspired by wearing one piece three times. I will illustrate how to transform this dress/skirt into three daytime looks. This first look has a denim shirt tied at the waist to make the waist appear smaller, and transform this dress into a skirt. I also buttoned up the denim shirt to add a more preppy look, along with a necklace to pull the look together. The shoes and clutch add the finishing touch to this look. The nude heels make my legs look longer, and the white clutch pulls out the white in the shirt. The studs are my favourite part of the clutch!

Shirt: Love Culture
Skirt: (Actually a dress) H&M
Necklace: Forever 21
Shoes: Aldo
Purse: Le Chateau
