Golden.

Golden flutter sleeve top: American Eagle
Boyfriend jeans: Old Navy
Cheetah heels: Michael Kors
Black Shoulder bag: Marc Jacobs
I’ve noticed that lately I’ve been sticking to shades, instead of colour. It is like a routine I’ve fallen into by these dark days. Instead of the sun coming out, I’ll bring some life and colour into my day. I love this flutter sleeve bright top, it’s such an instant mood booster when I wear it. Paired with my favourite boyfriend jeans, it’s such a laid back look. To add a punch to the outfit, I added it with some cheetah heels which I feel could be considered neutral to some people! Hope everyone is having a great week!

Velvety love.

Sundazzz. A day to rest and relax your soul, while being grateful to the one who created it. I hope everyone is relaxing at home with family, friends and a good cup of coffee today. I personally think Sunday is the best day of the week, starting off with fellowship. What is your favourite part about Sundays? Our weather has been up and down this winter, a little snow here, and a sunny day there. I love winter because I can layer lots of sweaters and be super comfy. I love working with different textures in winter to add different dimensions outfits. I paired this velvet top with an oversized cream cable knit sweater. It’s unexpected to take more of a fancy top and make it daytime, but I think that’s what fashion is, creating something unexpected. Let me know in the comments what your must have winter item is?!

Blush.

Hello friends! Sorry about no #TravelTuesday this week, I’ve been so busy! My sister’s wedding is coming up on June 13, so I’ve been scrambling around trying to get everything done. I promise to be more consistent next week! Today’s outfit was inspired by the crop top, I’m not one to show off my stomach, but I loved the detail in this top. Paired with high waisted pants, there’s a tiny bit of skin showing but definitely not too much. I love pairing crop tops with high waisted pants, and then you don’t have to worry about tucking your shirt in, or it being uneven in the back and noticeable. I love the sport/runners trend right now. I really hope it never goes out of style. How everybody’s Thursday going? Any plans for the weekend? X

Mixing prints

One thing I learned in fashion school was how to mix print. I mostly took inspiration from one of my good friends. She is definitely the master of mixing print, I’m pretty sure she was always in some kind of print! Here are some tips for mixing prints.

1. Don’t mix two loud prints; make sure one of the prints is smaller than the other. That way they aren’t fighting for attention.
2. Colour is key. Make sure one of the colours is in both your top and bottom, or a similar colour. This brings the look together. My look has both black and white; the pants tend to take more attention than the top because it is a busier print. Also both pieces have the same amount of colour. The top is focusing on white, and the bottom black.
3. Belt it! When you layer a cardigan or layering piece overtop, add a belt around the waist. That way it unites both the prints together.

4. Accessorize accordingly. In my look I paired my outfit with dainty earrings, a simple ring and clutch. I could’ve added a necklace but I wanted the outfit to be focused on the print more.

5. Mix textures! It’s an easier way of mixing print and it adds different visual elements to your outfit. Try a knitted sweater, with a leather skirt, or lace skirt.
So experiment with your prints, be bold and have fun! Let me know if these tips help, and if you try them out! XX

Coral reef

Summer is fast approaching, and with all this hot weather lately it’s got me pumped for warm season. High waisted shorts are not going anywhere this summer so its time to pull them out. There are so many tutorials on how to make your own high waisted short out of an old pair of jeans, so if you haven’t tried the popular trend, be daring and go for it! In this outfit I layered up with a leather jacket because it was warm but possible showers. How do you wear your shorts?
