Simplistic statement

Leather jacket Asos
Grey loose top last season
Denim chambray shirt J.Crew
Black jeans American Eagle

If you follow me on instagram you will know I have a slight obsession with anything marble. Marble has quickly become the coolest counter top to take pictures on. I love that marble is such a simplistic statement. It instantly brings a hint sophistication and chicness to decor, accessory, or outfit. Here I’m wearing my favourite marble necklace, I kept the rest of my outfit simple because I was doing a lot of walking downtown Vancouver, I needed to be warm and comfortable. What do you think of marble as a decor or fashion item?

Blush.

Hello friends! Sorry about no #TravelTuesday this week, I’ve been so busy! My sister’s wedding is coming up on June 13, so I’ve been scrambling around trying to get everything done. I promise to be more consistent next week! Today’s outfit was inspired by the crop top, I’m not one to show off my stomach, but I loved the detail in this top. Paired with high waisted pants, there’s a tiny bit of skin showing but definitely not too much. I love pairing crop tops with high waisted pants, and then you don’t have to worry about tucking your shirt in, or it being uneven in the back and noticeable. I love the sport/runners trend right now. I really hope it never goes out of style. How everybody’s Thursday going? Any plans for the weekend? X

Traditional Chinese Wedding Cake!

You will need…
1 (18 ounce) box yellow cake mix, baked in a 9 x 13 pan
3 eggs (or what your cake mix says)
½ cup oil (or what your cake mix says)
1 cups water (or what your cake mix says)
1 (3.5 ounce) box vanilla instant pudding mix
1.5 cups milk
4 ounces cream cheese
8 -14 ounces crushed pineapple, drained without any juice(use amount desired, more or less to your tastes)
½  container Cool Whip
14 ounces angel flake coconut (or however much you want)

Directions…
After you have baked your cake in a 9x13 pan, allow it to cool completely.
Take a large bowl and combine your milk, pudding mix, and cream cheese.
Cover the pudding mixture and place it in the refrigerator to allow it to chill and thicken.
After the pudding mix has thickened, spread it over the first baked cake to act like a glue to stick the second cake on top.
Take your drained pineapple, and spread it over the pudding mixture.
Next you will take your cool whip and spread it evenly over the pineapple.
To finish, sprinkle a desired amount of coconut over the top, and then place the 12 maraschino cherries in rows of three across the cake.
Cover your cake, and place it in the refrigerator overnight.
Serve and enjoy!

This cake is amazing, and easy to make. I did not put the maraschino cherries on top because I'm going to wait until the day I serve it. It can last up to two weeks in the freezer, but make sure you take it out 24 hours before serving so it can become room temperature.

Green on Green

Lately I have been obsessed with cacti, and succulents. I don’t remember when this obsession started, but I just can’t get enough of them. If you want to see some amazing cacti visit yesterday’s post where I went through the Muttart Conservatory, they have some amazing plants! When I saw this shirt it was love at first sight, I could think of 10 ways to wear this wonderful piece. Has anyone been star-struck by an amazing garment? I chose these boyfriend green jeans with this top to tie in the green, and then to add some edge of course I had to add the leather jacket. I have been loving this one from Reitman’s I got a couple months ago! Who else is just as obsessed with succulents?!

Lilac season is here + Mother's day ideas!

It’s lilac season, and just in time for mother’s day! Did you know that lilacs are an edible flower? I’ve never thought to eat it until I was snooping around trying to find things exciting ways to decorate with lilacs. It tastes just like it smells actually. Lilacs are my favourite flower, my mom enjoys them to. Try out one of these recipes for your mom for mother's day, they will make great gifts!

Lilacs definitely need to be displayed, they have an amazing aroma that can fill the whole room. They are so fragrant that everyone will be stopping to smell this flower when friends come to your house. Find your favourite vase and display! If you don’t own a lilac tree you can buy them at your local greenhouse that sells plants. Don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t smell right away, lilac trees need at least five years to mature and produce fragrance.

Myself, my family and friends give these cupcakes a thumbs up!
